Marian, co-founder of Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S. was active as a dog handler with her partner, PC, and as a search manager until her retirement in 1998. Marian was a pioneer in using dogs for water search. She continues to serve the search and rescue community by teaching and acting as a consultant on search missions.
Brooke, co-founder of Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S., retired in 1998. Brooke had both air-scent (Buster and Leni) and trailing (Polly and Bittersweet) search dogs.
Through the years Brooke and her dogs responded to a wide range of search missions including the Armenia earthquake, Mexico City earthquake, and the mudslide in Puerto Rico.
Don was an operational K-9 handler with Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S. with his partner, Cognac, a German Shepherd Dog, from 1998 thru 2003. He continues to contribute to MA/D as an Associate Member by performing administrative functions.
Ira was an operational K-9 handler with Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S. with
his partner, Inka, a German Shepherd Dog, from 1996 thru 2001.
Mary was an operational K-9 handler with Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S. from 1998 to 2005. Mary and her K-9 partners; (Zen 1998 to 2003 and Teco 2002 to 2005) were qualified for lost person, urban & wilderness; and human remains detection, land and water, search missions. They responded to numerous search missions including the Pentagon after the 9/11 attack.
Mary and her husband, Domenick, moved to Arizona in 2006.Michelle was an operational K-9 handler with Mid-Atlantic D.O.G.S.
from 2001 to 2006. Michelle and her K-9 partner Nyssa were qualified for lost person, urban &
wilderness; and human remains detection search
missions.
